I promise I won't keep doing this but...

...here goes a little more iPad squeeing... and an update.

I'm hardly using my macbook these days. The last thing I needed for the ipad was a new web browser. The default browser on any Apple device is Safari and Safari sucks big time in all its incarnations. I was hoping that Firefox had an app but unfortunately such is not so. :( So in searching around last night, I found a browser that tons of people have been gushing over. It was $2.99 so I figured I'd try it out. Now I see why people were gushing over it.

I now have what I can call an honest to goodness Apple netbook. I can even touch type on the keyboard. I can fully interface with google docs with the Office app. The new browser gives me tabs, real bookmark folders, site rendering so I don't have to deal with mobile sites. The battery life so far is awesome, longer than my Linux netbook and it's lighter and thinner too. Oh yeah, and the iBooks reader just updated to accept PDF files.

I am traveling with it this weekend to Boston. If all goes well it will be the only computer I will take to San Diego with me.

Which leads me to the countdown... 25 days until San Diego!!!

I've received lots of good inside info about what's going to be going on during the con and some outside events. I decided not to do w00tstock since the tickets were just too expensive and the show was thrown together at the last minute, and the venue kinda sucks, and they had to go through Ticketmaster for the ticket sales. I have strong moral objections to Ticketmaster but that's fodder for another post. I'll keep hoping that the show comes out east, New York or Boston, one of these days soon.

I got an email about badge pick-up and a confirmation email from Southwest about my flights. I still have to check to see if the hotel has a shuttle service. I think I remember reading something about that on their website. I'm not renting a car so we are stuck with public transport.

I was hoping to train it up to LA to visit an old friend of mine from high school whom I haven't seen in over 25 years but unfortunately I'm not going to have time. It kind of sucks since I'm only going to be two hours away by train but I suppose it's an excuse to take another trip out to California in the near future.

On another note, I think I have just about all of the Miami zines up on the website. If there are any other collections you guys want to see from the Miami stuff, let me know and I'll throw them together. After I get back from San Diego, I'll start on the rest of the site. But I figured the Miami stuff was the most important to begin with.

Ok, back to work now. I'm leaving for Boston tomorrow at noon and need to get some more work done today.

Given that I'm going to visit the MIL, I believe the correct way to say that is, "Have a SANE trip to Bean Town." :p
