Comic Con day 1

Ok, now, I know this is the first time that I am here at San Diego Comic Con but I've been to lots of other conventions. Granted, not in many years. This is like nothing i've ever experienced. The population of downtown San Diego has easily quintupled. Streets are blocked off. The density of humanity on the streets right now is intense.

When I was riding in the shuttle from the airport to the hotel Monday the driver mentioned that the convention attracted over 100,000 people. I thought he was exagerating. He wasn't. And today was only for the people who had preview night pick up. Everyone else has to wait until tomorrow to pick up their badges.

In other news, this morning we went to the Maritime Museum and took a harbor cruise. It was cool walking around on the old ships. I haven't done that since I was a kid and we used to go to the seaport in Mystic, Connecticut. It was a lot of fun. I love being on the water and practically grew up on my uncle's fishing boat. Again, got lots of pictures that I will post when I get home.
