And the good news is...

...see that arrow up there in New York. It's pointing at Long Island. And that bright green means we're under a tropical storm watch not a hurricane watch or warning.

Granted it is still 36 to 48 hours away, but so far it seems to be following the eastern part of the path instead of the western.

Will do....LOL! I have a banner question for you? Do you make your own banners and if so, How do you do it?
Sep. 2nd, 2010 01:24 pm (UTC)
Do you mean graphic-wise or actually getting them into LJ?
Sep. 2nd, 2010 01:27 pm (UTC)
Both actually.... I am reading more fandoms now and I wanted a new banner...

I use Photoshop. But that is fairly expensive option. There is a lesser version called Photoshop Elements, I think, that's fairly cheap. There are also some public domain and open source programs out there. It all depends on how computer savy you are. And just so you know, you could always ask me and I would do a banner for you using whatever graphics or pics you want.

As for getting it into your journal, that all depends on what style you are using, whether or not there is a header option or how much customization your style allows by CSS code.

Wow! Really?? I would love that because I am so not computer savy at all.

I'll have some time this weekend. Shoot me an email with exactly what you want. If you want to look for specific pics for me to use go ahead and do that. You can send them to me by email attachment. Then we can look at what your journal style requirements are.

That's better than the earlier projection, but still gonna get a lot of wind and rain.

We get tropical storms up here all the time. Usually the water is too cold to sustain a strong hurricane.

the storm
Hopefully we don't get too much damage down here in the Princeton area, we're in the dark green I think, not even sure what that means but I know I'm watching the storm carefully since tomorrow night I have lawn seats for the Rush Concert here at PNC Arts Center.

Re: the storm
The dark green is tropical storm warning, one step up from watch. We'll probably be upgraded to warning by this afternoon.

Re: the storm
Thanks, I've been paying attention to the news when I'm home since this one is again aiming right for us up in the New Jersey/New York region. Just wasn't sure what we were upgraded to *again*.

Re: the storm
I've just been reloading this page: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at2+shtml/100013.shtml?3-daynl?large#contents

It looks like the cone has been moved a bit to the east. The storm is supposed to pass 150 miles east of Montauk (the eastern most end of the island).
