Will the excitement ever end...

My husband left work around six tonight and made it back to our neighborhood around 6:30ish. He hit traffic on the road leading up to our street which is highly unusual. He had to take a back road to get home because the traffic wasn’t moving at all. I was already at home and I’d been hearing sirens on and off for a while, not that unusual.

We both sort of shrugged it off.

Around 7:30 he decided to to into town to get a bottle of soda and some tobacco. When he came back he said that one of the side streets was blocked off by what looked like a UPS truck but turned out to be a bomb squad truck. He said everyone in town was talking about a sniper.

A sniper. I live in a small town. Main Street is less than a mile long. A sniper? Really?

I turned on the local news. Nothing. Just local election coverage. If there was a sniper, it would have been on the news. Finally I pulled up the local newspaper and found a blurb that said basically, a woman driving down Main Street passed town hall had her car window shot out. She wasn't hurt.

There was only one shot. It was probably some dumbshit teenager with a .22 rifle. What’s amusing is the way the story mutated with each person my husband talked to. One person said there was a sniper using a 12 gage shot gun (not really the weapon of choice for snipers, even dumb ones).

I imagine the police have the area blocked off trying to figure out where the shot came from.

I’m still hearing sirens.

That is a bit disconcerting, but on a positive note, I still got my sniper on a leash. *grins*

LOL Thinking Dino might be sneaking around here with a sniper rifle is a bit disturbing. Keep him on his leash please.

That's more than a bit disconcerting!

I hope the police can catch the person and no one is hurt.
