I'm really not a sports fan...

...and Sunday football is starting to piss me off.

Again Miami was delayed because football ran over so my DVR didn't record it properly.

What I don't understand is if the network knows they are not allowing enough time to complete a game, why not just allow more time for fuck's sake. All they seem to need to do is tack on an extra half hour to the allotted time for the game to be completed without having to fuck up the rest of the evening's schedule. I'm getting really tired of having to watch episodes on my computer.

In a related note, anyone in the tri-state area with Cablevision and a Cablevision DVR know a work-a-round for auto recording when the schedule gets delayed?

We have Dish and the same issue. My work around is to set the timer on just that show for two hours. Sometimes it doesn't work so I have also set the following program (news) up to record. This way I don't miss the show.

I may start doing that. Right now I have it set up automatically. It records all new episodes whenever they are scheduled. So if the episode shows on a different day or is scheduled at a different time, it automatically records it. The problem is, delays like I've been getting are not scheduled so the DVR doesn't pick them up.

I'm not sure who your cable carrier, but at least with BrightHouse/TimeWarner the DVRs have a couple option. You should be able to select "new" instead of "all" or "new and repeat" and then there should be two options to begin the recording X minutes early and to extend the recording X minutes after. [Just keep in mind recording conflicts should you be recording anything else on Sunday nights.]

Yeah, that's basically what DJ suggested. I'm going to have to play with it, at leat until football season is over.

This has always been a problem w/sunday shows during football season - I honestly don't know why CBs doesn't take this into consideration when scheduling and just start new sunday shows after football season.

Pervonally - Even 10pm is on too late for me now since I get so early for work and if it gets pushed back further... I can't be a zombie at work Mon morning. so I just watch Miami(and a lot of my other CBs shows) on Comcast On Demand now - they keep them for a couple weeks, they're free and no commercials.

Unfortunately football season isn't over until February. I had to look that up, btw. And Cablevision doesn't have deal with CBS for on demand, only NBC and ABC. So I'm stuck watching online until February because 10pm is way too late for me too.
