Mr. Murphy, vacation, new dog...

So for the past week at work I've basically had nothing to do. One of the things that I really hate about this place is the total lack of forethought. No one ever plans; they just react.

So I'm on vacation after Friday, for a week. The weather on Friday was spectacular, sunny, 70's, light breeze. My plans are to leave at noon. I arranged it all with the Dean. Everything is good.

What happens next...

Suddenly everyone needs something from me, and they need it by Monday. And, of course, all of it involves having to write new databases. I definitely work best under pressure. I did more work in four hours yesterday than I did in the previous two weeks combined.

+++++++
Now I've got a week off. I need to get a new TV set. I think I will finally be joining the 21st century and getting an HD flat screen set. My 20-year-old Sony is not so happy anymore.

++++++
I thought I would introduce everyone to the newest member of our extended familial household.
This is Gordon:

He is still a little skittish and wouldn't come out from under the table. He is a four month old collie-huskie mix.

+++++
Well, I'm off to enjoy the first day on my vacation.

Enjoy your week off.

*Waves to Gordon and pets him* He's utterly adorable, so cute. I love how he's got his paws over the table base. I look forward to seeing more of him.

Lacey says hello go Gordon.

He is adorable but he's still growling at me. I have to work on that.

Not so little. At 4 months he's already the same size Tucker was an adult. He's going to be a big doggie.
